Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

After watching Clash of the Titans, it seemed fitting to watch a junior edition of the Greek Mythos. Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief may have the longest title in the history of kid's movies.

It also was an enjoyable film.

Follow young Percy as he discovers why his mother lives with a slob of a man and why his best friend has to use canes to walk, yet seems to move quickly.

Being the son of a god means there are people/forces in the world who would like to see your ruin; and if they can tag you with stealing Zeus' lightning bolt, all the better.

Sean Bean represents Zeus in this film. It was hard for me to imagine Bean as a god. Pierce Brosnan is part man-part horse. Yet another image hard for me to imagine.

This is a fun movie for those it was intended - middle school kids. Adults may enjoy the fun romp, but by the end of the film, I was ready for Percy to just hand the bolt over already without having to fight for the longest time.
