NotMyJesus by Bob Fabey

Bob Fabey has discovered that often, how we perceive Jesus comes from our own image. This manifests itself in both positive and negative ways.

Almost everyone seems to appreciate the "kind and gentle Jesus"; the Jesus who "wouldn't talk like that" or "be so judgmental". Others see Jesus as the domineering taskmaster.

Fabey says we're all wrong.

In a clever way of writing, Fabey exposes some of the more hurtful things Jesus has said and done. He imagines if Jesus had a Twitter handle and what kind of hashtags that would look like.

The part that jumped out especially for me was Fabey concept of being, "under the weather" - this concept that we can complain about the weather but we really can't change it. His expression of the kind of love Jesus espoused and His followers are to exhibit were great reminders.

This was an enjoyable, short book. Perhaps you could read it and be confronted with the image of Jesus you have created.
